Hope springs from opportunity. David knows that the gates of Georgia’s opportunity must be open wide. He wants to make Georgia the easiest place to start and grow a business; to start and grow a licensed career. David will champion the elimination of needless regulation and streamline our resources to make information, training and education more readily available to business owners and those seeking and practicing licensed careers. David’s vision is for Georgia to be the best at what we do best: the moving of stuff and people, the marketing of crops and livestock, and the expansion of technology.

As a business owner, David has felt the impact of over-complicated and unnecessary regulation; regulation that stalls the growth of our local economy. Under his leadership in Alpharetta, he helped create an environment, which led to the addition of over 12,000 jobs in six years. He has created opportunities for collaboration with local business owners across industries and pushed forward the city’s first Economic Development team. David also organized a public private partnership to bring a hotel and conference center to Alpharetta. He put together Georgia’s first AgTech Conference, which will be held next year. David helped put Alpharetta on the map and distinguish its presence from that of neighboring Atlanta. The city has been recognized by Forbes, Goodcall, Nerd Wallet, and others and has been named one of the top 12 cities in the U.S. for technology, the best small city in the U.S. to start a business, the best city for women entrepreneurs, and the 6thfastest growing city in the U.S.

David is also committed to safety, security and a high standard of ethics in his business and as Mayor. Under his leadership, Alpharetta obtained an ISO-1 Rating for Public Safety. This is the highest rating for emergency response times and is held by less than 2% of cities nationwide. He launched a special investigations vice unit for Public Safety to fight against human trafficking and drugs in Alpharetta. David knows how to connect people, businesses, and resources, and he will work to leverage the strengths of Georgia’s industries to expand our opportunities as a people and as a state.
